EU says sovereignty US says sanctions digital rules become a geopolitical tug of war.
Quoting the article: “… he wrote on X”…
I understand that it’s the only means of communication with the US, but can we please have a platform for Europeans to see those messages directly too? Most of us don’t use X and feel secondary finding out about things in the news with quotes from X.
I guess I should be grateful our leaders don’t give their comments directly to Russia Today at least.
“Digital regulation” is a very nice way of saying censorship chat control and spying on its citizens. This is one of the extremely few things the US is in the right on.
So, EU wrote a weak worded letter in response.
good
A lot of big words but if you don’t follow with some actions then they remain words that can be safely ignored
Thierry Breton fucked around and found out. He used to act like a big man on Twitter.
FUCK YOU AMERICA
Accuse this, condemn that.. why not just restrict visa acess to EU for equivalent number of US officials which are considered threat to EU, tit for tat?
As long we are dependent on US Defense
, finance (US dollar and banking system), US tech giants and cloud infrastructure, all our representatives can do is watch and condemn because they are afraid of escalating more than republicans are.
The word ‘accuse’ implies that the case has yet to be determined to be true. It’s blatantly damned obvious that the US IS being intimidatory, and egregiously interfering in European countries’ politics. No ‘accuse’ necessary.
Reads as: United States of Intimidation (USI) 🤣
Let reinforce our laws to properly regulate social media, with big fines if their companies don’t follow them
The EU is going to have to say to America that you have changed, but we aren’t. Tell them no ty.
