He needs to be careful with any “promises” made by the US government. The Liar In Charge would have no qualms about going back on anything he agreed to.
But really, Zelensky is no dummy and I think he knows to be careful. Plus, I’m sure he is getting some good private advice from European leaders. European leaders have a stake in the whole thing, after all.
He is playing the game he has to play to keep arms and intel coming. He knows putin will not accept anything short of surrender until it is too late to stop russia’s collapse. And while that event would bring other dangers, I wish for it anyway.
