“The British prime minister, Keir Starmer, [made three calls to his Egyptian counterpart](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/sep/12/hopes-rise-of-pardon-for-abd-el-fattah-as-starmer-speaks-with-egypt-president), Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, and the UK national security adviser, Jonathan Powell, also personally urged the Egyptians to end his detention.”
I respect a Prime Minister that will fight for their citizens. Well done, Keir.
Edit: Gotta love that someone downvoted this. You against releasing British secular pro-democracy activists from dictatorship prisons?
> On 26 March 2013, he was arrested for inciting aggression during a protest outside the Muslim Brotherhood’s headquarters, known as the Mokattam Clashes of March 2013
Someone too extreme for Islamic countries is apparently ideal to be here
Supported the Arab spring… That gave rise to the Muslim brotherhood aka Hamas that tried to take over Egypt..
Ggs Starmer, give him a free house whilst you’re at it.
Mubarak gave rise to Egypt being a stable prospering country, NOW it is a military state ruled by a general.
This guy denounced democracy and was locked up for wanting an islamic state. Now he is in the UK to brainwash the weak minded left, no doubt in the name of diversity, that won’t include the gays or women, but they’ll worship him anyway as a symbol of freedom.
