Because we aren’t Russia or China. People are allowed to say things that are critical/negative, even if it’s a rich fuckbag like Elon.

  2. sauerlaender on

Because too many users here would be against it. The EU dont have the nuts to do it

  3. boterkoeken on

More importantly: it’s a security threat. Elmo amplifies the far right and he’s actively attacking the EU. At this point Xitter is just a psyop. It should be handled like a source of hostile misinformation.

    I love freedom of speech.

Reading those kinds of messages makes me realise how dumb most people are.

So guess not banned because of educational purposes.

    Uhm… Why should it?

What kind of totalitarianism are you into if this shit posting of some autist makes you go: “ban an entire platform of communication, it’s too dangerous”

  6. StrangerConscious637 on

Elon, the fanatic Naziboy, should not be allowed into Europe ever again. He and the orange monkey are the most dangerous enemies of Europe right after the Russian terrorist Putin.

Because then we’ll be playing their game. And will beats us with experience.

To be honest, its not like Somalia has the highest qualifications on security

Some daycare center is accused of welfare fraud. Possibly correctly. Guy makes edgy jokes. This is very tame compared to other shit Musk has done.

  10. Crunchykroket on

Because it’s not illegal. The EU specifically has the freedom to “shock, offend or disturb”.

  11. Ban ban ban. Ban this ban that ban everything then we’ll be happy here in our wonderful garden of Europe.

  12. Consistent-Matter-59 on

That’s just racism. At least he’s not speaking up against the genocide in Gaza. That would get the political class triggered.

  13. grafknives on

Because that would be read as an act of war by USA.

Yes, we are at adversarial position with USA and tech companies are us tool of influence.

  14. yourfriendlyreminder on

People who keep clamoring for Twitter and Facebook to get banned are just setting themselves up for disappointment at this point.

We should be more like India. They periodically switch off X completely until Musk and his staff tackle misinformation. Amazing how quickly they jump to it.

  16. Careless_and_weird-1 on

I’m starting to think that x is completely unnecessary. Too much misinformation and general bs with malitious intent to be considered “free speech”

  17. lawrotzr on

Because of EU mismanagement. Big words about European autonomy and strategic independence, up until the moment they have to actually act.

Then we’ll just send Ursula crawling on her knees to a golf resort in Scotland, because we’re unable to defend ourselves, build our own tech stack, and are unable to provide for our own energy needs after decades of apathetic mismanagement of the EU.

  18. SharksFlyUp on

Why should it be? We should treasure our freedom of speech

  19. White people in this thread: “if you don’t like us calling black people slurs then just ignore us as we constantly call them slurs huehuehue”

  20. Because Twitter has become shit and in Europe nobody uses It any more?

  21. Banned is a reach. Not used by our very own politicians would be a nice start.

  22. Dreamdrifter93 on

This is freedom of speech. This would have never been allowed on Twitter before. Thanks Elon, this is great!

  23. Tasty-Thanks8802 on

Just move to North Korea. In North Korea there is no X and no free speech. You will be very happy there . X is not banned in the EU for things like this because EU is a Democracy with have free speech .

  24. mushyoscuro on

    No media should be banned.

The state first bans a media, then another, then another until it bans “speech”.

  25. MostPutridSmell on

Censor censor censor!! Delete everything and anybody we dont like!!

Also J.D. Vance is an idiot the EU doesn’t have a problem of restricting freedoms.

  26. feedmestocks on

Popper warned us what happens when you let intolerance fester, Twitter should have been banned years ago: Lies with the intent to hurt others isn’t freedom of speech, it’s hate speech

  27. supranes on

Maybe delete that shit show. Let him throw his tantrums alone

  28. LeftLiner on

Social media platforms don’t need to be banned, they need to be forced to enforce their own ToS. A huge problem is that people have gotten used to essentially unmoderated services being the norm. Meta, Twitter etc should be forced by law to have every user-generated report handled by a human being within 24 hours or face fines *and* there should be an escalation route available that eventually ends up with a third party review. That way people will actually be able to evaluate what platform they actually want to participate in but as long as all social media essentially let’s everyone get away with everything except the most blatantly unlawful shit (or the stuff that the owners personally dislikes) it’s just comparing turd sandwiches and no-one really makes an informed choice about where to be.

  29. JBagfort on

I want us to jail and expel Musk next time he shows up, instead of letting him profit from EU money while trashing it at the same time

  30. feitfan82 on

twitter went from being a social media platform to a political tool for the us elite
