    The US has this law. It’s actually led to a lot of shit being public the government would rather cover up, which is good. Journalists use “freedom of information act” all the time.

    The government works for the people, we are entitled to information. I’m surprised the Europeans don’t have this kind of law already?

    Important context this is commentary from officials in 1995 which is being released now under the 30 year rule. This time of year we get loads of insights into policy-making from 30 years ago ironically not disclosable under FOI laws
