      Funny that the omelette with mushroom cost the more than the cheese or tomato one. And what is up with the “Japonaise” lettuce 🙂

      Sardine on toast? Would not like to sit next to that customer on a plane…..

      Honestly this looks amazing and as a vegetarian I feel like the veg options here are impressive compared to a lot of places these days.

      I hate when people say “t’is far from X you were reared!”, but my folks were born in the 50s and absolutely never tried anything like lobster, sweetbreads or turtle soup. I guess this was the era where flying really was for the elite.

      There was a time when going to a restaurant at an airport was a big thing. They’d often overlook the airfield, so the patrons could watch the planes take off and land. Menu is nice and very much of its time.

      That actually looks really good – way more variety than I’d have expected for the 1950s.

      There not a restaurant or hotel in the country today with a menu like that. Absolutely fabulous
