We got the Nordic Council. Why would we need a union when we allready got a council agreeing on cooperation.

I have no issues in principle with the idea. I think, for many reasons, it is a good one. But. politically it is often hard getting two municipalities to cooperate in the same region in the same country. imagine that issue multiplied by six countries, six languages, and six political elites all wanting power.

Sure, we can buy Sweden and then we can finally start using our wealth fund.
Yes I’d like that to happen. Mostly du to all my danish and Swedish coworkers over the last decade. Made me realise that we’re all cut from the same cloth. We have a lot of the same work ethics, attitudes, family values, humour and so on.
Would it work? I dunno. But I know that I get along with most of them.

We Norwegians will never sacrifice our independence for international cooperation. Except when it comes to American military bases and soldiers ofcourse.
Sweden, Denmark and Finland are already in a union, just waiting for Norway to join.

this would presumably require us to sacrifice our resource independence, I dont see any benefits that cant be achived with dipolomacy and trade, except of course a stronger shared cultural identity, although finland isent a part of the scandinavian culture

If EU collapses then we should make our own union, but not as one country … And I don’t hope EU collapses at all.

Kinda hard since some are EU members and some are not. I think Norway would loose economically on this arrangement.
