I’ve just now read a post that glazed Starmer for his ambitions to promptly get closer to the EU.

I wanna see what those Starmer glazers say about this now.

    > In December, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) directly awarded American data and AI company Palantir a £240 million agreement for “data analytics capabilities supporting critical strategic, tactical and **live operational decision making** across classifications” over three years.

    Wow.

  3. Accomplished-Moose50 on

I’m sure UK will not regret this. It’s not like they made some horrible “patriotic choices”

Where are the “we are slowly decoupling from the US and gaining time” people?

We aren’t decoupling. Our politicians don’t want to cut off the Americans.

They will keep picking American tech because it’s cheaper and/or better despite the obvious risks and the far right background of Thiel.

They don’t care enough to sacrifice profit for sovereignty.

    – Ally turned traitor

    – Abandoned reason for madness

    – Uses Palantir

The US is just Isengard, and we all know how that went…

  6. As much as this pisses me off the UK military is so intertwined with the US military that it’s hard to completely cut ties.

The French had the right idea

  7. War_Fries on

This is so incredibly stupid. If you want to decouple yourself from the US, this is *not* the way to do it.

We need less of this bullshit in Europe. Not more.

  8. iamrobotjeans on

Seriously, with all the shit that’s going on and we’re just going tie ourselves into an even tighter knot to get out of?

  9. ApetteRiche on

Palantir needs to be designated as a terrorist organization, fuck em.

  10. squirrel_exceptions on

Absolutely fucking reckless and unconscionable, handing their data and money over to a company owned and led by a bona fide far-right extremist at the same time as his buddy is threatening to invade Denmark. Simply traitorous.

  11. Boundish91 on

I’m starting to think that a lot of European governments are either evil or profoundly stupid.

Palantir is infecting Norway and other European countries as well.

It’s insanity. What are they thinking!?

  12. chrisni66 on

    > **The award, which was made without a competitive process**, follows a “strategic partnership” between Palantir and the MoD announced in September during President Donald Trump’s state visit to the U.K.

That’s highly unusual and should warrant a parliamentary investigation alone…

We are so fucked lol. The billionaires just simply have too much power over us.

  14. owlexe23 on

Total fail. The US technology oligarchs are getting what they want.

  15. skildert on

Nations doing this really go down on the US and suck like Trump was guzzling Bubba.

  16. Lopsided-Affect-9649 on

We need to get out and fucking protest, this is a simply treasonous decision.

  17. citrusman7 on

didnt france approve a similar deal a while ago? hilarious that people thought the uk/europe would actually step away from the US

  18. Soft-Ingenuity2262 on

So much for strategic independence and indepentend security guarantees…

  19. Winston Churchill announces that Joseph Goebbels will help the BBC maintain radio broadcast quality all out the empire, so no citizen should miss important information during the nazi bombing runs.

    Fucking corrupt cunts, man.
Peter Thiel is the anti-christ. He would enslave us all if he could.

  21. TH3-P4TI3NT on

we’re selling our defence to people who are talking about declaring war on us

  22. are you fucking kidding me!

Talk about making a deal with the devil at the crossroads!!

  23. AdvertisingUsed6562 on

Starmer really is kissing Trumps ass. We should be moving away from the US not handing them contracts like this.

  24. jesuisapprenant on

Why don’t you just send data directly to the U.S.? You’re paying for spyware essentially

  25. Psephological on

Why the actual fuck are we signing deals with fascist AI weirdos?

  26. Holgerson80 on

Total stupid. After the recent confusing appearances by Palantir’s CEO, it should be clear that this company should be avoided at all costs.

  27. Original-Activity575 on

Wtf are we giving money and sensitive data to an American company controlled by a rogue state??
Surely there are EU companies that offer similar services? If not, some cunt should start one

  28. melancious on

This is.. literally the plot of *Johnny English Strikes Again*

  29. Corrie7686 on

Seems like a really bad idea considering the current US anti NATO stance, but maybe they know something I don’t

  30. WholeAccountant5588 on

And this fits a pattern. Moderate socialdem clumsy governments falling into temptation, trying to use these surveillance tools to counterattack extremism, are just setting up the red carpet for forthcoming extremists, which would im time find a complete infraestructure for totalitarianism ready to be used.
