L’investitore dell’aeroporto di Waterford si è rivelato essere il miliardario petrolifero texano e sostenitore di Trump, Kelcy Warren

>The land, which was valued at €2.295 million by independent estate agent Avison Young, will be sold for €50,000. The sale conditions include a number of so-called anti-embarrassment clauses, such as restrictions on changing the use of the land and future sales.

>The chief executive of the council, Sean McKeown, recommended councillors take the deal in light of the “absence of any viable alternative investment proposal, the imminent financial risk to the airport and the clear and measurable economic and social benefits” of the investment.

>The agreement includes a clause that the sale of the land will only take effect once the full development works at the airport have been completed.

So effectively the Council are allowing the land to be used for an airport only, with the Council effectively investing €2m worth of land in the project, subject to the external investment of €30m and the full development of the airport.

If it all goes ahead then Waterford get a modern airport for an effective public cost of €2m, and if it doesn’t go ahead then the sale of the land is cancelled.

He can sink all the money he wants in our infrastructure, but he can get f***ed if he thinks he’ll influence policy.

That seems like a very intelligent business/public works proposal from the council.
