Instead of being obsessed with farage farage farage maybe they’d do better concentrating on their own policies.

    >Rachel Reeves has said she was angered by Nigel Farage’s suggestion that only British-born families should have the two-child benefit cap lifted, saying the Reform UK leader would keep children in poverty based on their skin colour.

Is Rachel Reeves saying the only British-born people are white? Farage didn’t make any reference to race, only she has done that.

What is a British-born family? If you are British-born, but one of your parents isn’t, is yours a British-born family (BBF)? If both of your parents are British-born, but you have a grandparent who isn’t, is your family a BBF? If everyone in you family is British-born, but then your sister gives birth abroad to your niece, is your family no longer a BBF?

Rachel Reeves should apologise for her racist comments.

He doesn’t condemn it. He endorses it.

He just wants it for working families who’re actually from Britain.

Sounds like common sense to me.

  6. The cap should stay because people with jobs can’t afford a single kid. It encourages people who want large families to be economically inactive.

Reeves needs ro ditch the discrimination and focus on improving the lives of all British children not just the children of poor parents.

Is Reeves unaware there are plenty of black British people who have had family here for generations now? I get the point she is trying to make but her language is pretty awkward here. If right wing politicians were speaking like this they would be criticised for doing so. She is equating (white) skin colour with Britishness, even if that’s not her intention.

Didn’t labour suspend 7 MPs 6 months ago for voting in favour of this?

The two child benefit cap is hugely popular among voters who seem to have this belief that you should only have kids if you can afford to have them.

Labour are insane in lifting this cap.

Quite simple really. British born is referring to the parents as we know farage is a racist white nationalist cut from the same cloth as pedo-president. So the children may be british born but farage will punish those children anyways.

British born is a racist dogwhistle, duh.

Isn’t this her implicitly stating that only white people can be British? I mean I agree with her to a degree, but I’d imagine it’s not something she’d be wanting to state.

I’m against raising the cap regardless.
