Trumps erratic behavior puts the whole world in a bind. The greatest nation on earth used to be an entity you could bank on, but all thats changed. NATO and even traditional trading partners have been put on notice.

Since Feb 24 Ukraine has masterfully played the hands they’ve been dealt. Decisions made and tactics adjusted as the situation warranted, in order to not only survive, but steadily advance their cause and capabilities. This trend shows no signs of faltering. Looking at the arc of events of the last 4 years, a reality starts to emerge from the fog, being Ukraine not needing NATO, but rather a fractured NATO needing Ukraine.

Also Europeans are watching US news today. Seeing that ICE murdered a woman for no reason, and then the Trump administration told boldface lies about it. Why should Europe or anyone believe anything this administration says since they are so eager to lie?

I’m sure Ukraine would say: we want to win this war first, and then we can start thinking about stuff outside our borders.

Honestly at this point if there is no NATO there is no one holding the EU from sending in ground troops to help.

America is not going to militarily conquer Greenland. Come on. If that shit actually happens I will come back, say “Well, fuck.”, delete my Reddit account, and go join one of the thousands of protests that will be happening.
He is almost certainly just posturing and applying pressure to achieve some sort of unfair lopsided deal. They told him no so he’s just leaning harder.

NATO and the US participation will limp along until “the donald” has wrung all the cash it can from the alliance.

I wouldn’t say it puts Ukraine in a bind. Zelensky knows it’s europe who are his firm allies, and also his future EU partners and he played it exactly right. He had the meetings with all the other European leaders to ensure that key players came out with the same unified message. I would say that Starmer was a bit slower to put out a statement than I would have liked, but Zelensky at the Cypriot eu presidency inauguration was very straight in his stance and his backing of Denmark’s territorial sovereignty concerning Greenland. Of course I expected him to take this moral stance, but in the face of what’s at stake I wouldn’t have blamed him to be a bit more soft on it

NATO doesn’t end if the US leaves.
