Some of this is that weird psychology thing of actions triggering copycat behaviour. Like reporting on suicides causes people to commit suicide. It ripples like a wave. The US must have this with school shootings. Some deep trigger in humans for the replication.
I guess not reporting would be the interruption. But that obviously is difficult. Kind of thing AI might know an answer to. Big data. What can interrupt the social infection more than censoring it?
