Jesus, we reached a point when The Telegraph is just hiring uneducated halfwits or something? Poland was a socialist country, it’s not the same as communist, it doesn’t need any secret knowledge, few minutes doing google search or asking chat gpt will sort that out. This is very superficial. Poland was never close to ‘third world’. even at its more dire, it has functioning institutions, universal healthcare and education, fully industrialised. It was a industrialised nation with an extremely inefficient system which failed to provide a standard of living seen in the West but it wasn’t comparable to ‘third world’.
