Casa georgiana costruita intorno al 1780, l’unico modo efficiente in termini di costi per riscaldarsi è con una balla di paglia in una caldaia su misura.

  1. I have never seen that before, that’s amazing!

I live in a refurbed 1770 house, and it’s taken a fair bit of insulation to make it cosy. So I can appreciate the difficulty.

A bale of straw is about 25 euro to buy though. That’s madness

Must have to change the bail every 30 min or so as they can burn quick.

  4. So the bail heats up the water tank that is above or nearby, the steam or hot water is distributed through central heating pipes?

That’s my guess and I saw it in rural Latvia years ago.

  5. I feel like that wouldn’t burn long enough or hot enough to heat fucking anything…

How long would the bale last? Like.. A few hours, a day, a week?

Heating houses and drying grain with straw is not a new thing
