Knowing Trump this will be the opposite of a deterrence and only lead to more issues for the UK/Europe.

Wonderful. Lets move Arctic trained forces out of the countries Putin might want to attack to defend one he doesn’t. Because defending the USA from pretend threats is obviously more important than deterring real ones.
We have no hope of being able to fight this. It would take pretty much all our resources and take years to build up our army’s enough to stop them, we have done too little far too late. We need to focus on rebuilding to face Russia and forget Greenland for now.

Every EU nation should put a small amount of troops on Greenland, even as a message to trump that we stand with Greenland and against an ally using aggression to take a sovereign nation. It may or may not put him off, but hopefully enough that the few Americans who have the ability to think beyond the ‘we are the greatest, most important and powerful nation’ mindset will be able to tell him he’s thick as fuck and to wind his orange plump neck in before he starts another war.
What exactly does invading Greenland look like? Would Trump round up the people? Take over the local government? Start drilling for oil?
Sadly. I feel the American people have little to no voice now and are fighting against a dictatorship. It’s escalated quickly. The whole of the EU should stand together and fight for what’s morally right. Even with less of a military force. I’d rather stand for the good than allow evil to even try. The EU must stay strong.
The EU should start moving troops to Greenland NOW. Don’t let Ukraine repeat itself.
