Naturalmente, se ti piace mangiare gli avanzi, il macellaio ti avrebbe dato gratuitamente per il tuo animale domestico qualche anno fa. Ragazzi Jaysus, cosa dovreste farci? Azione? Servire la suocera?

I would do nothing with it, its 7 days out of date. If you are going to use it then factor in the cost of a trip to the doctor/A&E for acute food poisoning.

Kilo of chicken thighs in lidl for under 3 I think, or maybe its gone up over, can’t remember, but that’s pretty much exclusively the only chicken I buy now.

Those used to go to Africa in frozen version but nowadays are perfect here. That’s only showing where we are now

That stuff looks disgusting! Wouldn’t touch it with a 10′ pole.

Meat and Veg have gotten so bad recently, I’ve resorted to reducing my meat consumption and buying the more expensive stuff.

At least they’re good quality and don’t go off within a day

Food is still quite cheap if you cook from scratch

I think when people talk about chicken being expensive they are talking about chicken breasts, which are a rip off. I don’t think they are thinking of this rather vaguely labelling…. Chicken portions…. Nondescript chicken meat. Sounds appetising.

Isn’t Supervalu supposed to be the dearest shop? Get out of there!

Great selection of chicken wing portions there. People think the only thing that comes off a chicken is the breast

Chicken is still dirt cheap. You can get a whole rotisserie chicken for 5 or 6 euros, a whole dead bird for that price. Seems very cheap to me.

But remember lads. The really important thing is to stop consumers being able to purchase good value meat coming in from outside the EU because the quality standards won’t be as high as Irish farmers produce and charge a fortune for.

And then they serve us this crap.

  12. Lidl has 1kg boxes even cheaper. Maybe it’s full of antibiotics and other shit, but what’s not now? I buy it for my dog, he loves that. Sometimes I take it from him and eat myself. Way tastier than paper breasts, because fat carries a taste, not proteins. You can add some spices, air fry it, you can steam it, take the meat out of bones and fry it with kebab spices for example yummy yummy
When I have a chance I buy free range chicken wings or legs on farmers market, massive difference. No bad smell when boiling and you can’t even break the bones like in these industrial mutants. But they are still better than buying pre cooked cured in preservatives.

    These aren’t “scraps”.

They’re the same wings you’re getting in a restaurant etc, but these ones you can cook at home.

And they’re not exactly a new thing either.

    Welcome to the future.

So, the actual best part of the chicken?

The price a bowl of wings smaller than one of those packets would cost you in a restaurant!

For everyone freaking out, if you ever had chicken wings in a restraunt or pub grub whatever, this is what you are getting…I dont get the outrage lol…

As to what to do with them, mix some paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt , pepper into a few table spoons of flower ant coat the chicken wings with it. Into the oven or airfryer… Smother in franks hot wing sauce once done…

Get to your local Lituanica shop. Boneless chicken thighs for about €7 a kilo and they’re PLUMP and delicious. Stopped buying most of my meat anywhere else.

  17. What are you supposed to do with it?

Season it, bread it, fry it, toss in the sauce of your choice!
Season and roast for a low calorie version.

    Soup.

Stock? You could, but I normally save the carcass for that.

If you’re prepared to put a bit more effort you can make a fantastic curry with this.

If you dont want to do any of that, get the big pack of thighs instead, they are pretty cheap too, and will be more moist and juicy than breast 9/10.

Lads, I’m buying 2.2kg of chicken for 6.5€ in Lidl/Dunes and just chopped by myself. You get chicken breast for the same price that you would pay separately, plus everything else.

What is the percentage of bones, cartilage and skin vs meat?

  20. LittleAoibh11 on

In some countries these would be considered far superior parts of the chicken to chicken breasts for e.g.

Perfect for making chicken soup, chicken stew / casserole.

These are lovely with Frank’s buffalo wings sauce, cover with flour, into the air fryer and drown in sauce when done, great high protein snack

Buy a whole chicken and learn how to cut..

East way to spend less money.
