The role of President isnt that much important in Portugal as in other countries. Still it worries me to see Ventura, our own MAGA version, so close to the other candidates.

It’s so weird to see a presidential election where there might not be a conservative candidate in the second round.

Probably the most unpredictable election ever here. 5 candidates with chances of going to the 2nd round and 4 with chances of becoming president (the far-right candidate loses against everyone else in the 2nd round).

I am still salty that it was a Portuguese guy who invented the lobotomy

The polls change so much from day to day, it’s showing incredible indecision in the electorate. The two guys that were probably favorites at the beginning Gouveia e Melo and Luis Marques Mendes really faded. One because he showed a vacant understanding of the issues and the other because the press started asking questions about his consulting racket and income.
Ventura’s support is steady with limited upside and downside. So I think he gets to the second round unless support solidifies behind a couple of candidates. The problem is that every candidate knows if they get to the second round against Ventura, there is a high probability they beat him. So no one is motivated to pack it in. They just have to work to be the tallest midget.

So it’s the German flag, and a fifth of the electorate wants to see an antibiotic in power.
Wild.

Marques Mendes is not unaffiliated.

When people put up these charts could ye also do a quick description for us to explain what each of the parties are?
