      This (5 DKK / 5 Kroner) belongs to the series of coins introduced 1989..1993. The 3 sizes with holes are 5,2 and 1 DKK. The copper coloured is 0.50 DKK. There are also thicker coins for 20 and 10 DKK.

      There will soon be a new series of coins, as Margrethe II resigned last year. As tradition is, the monarch has the monogram on coins, so Frederik will get his on the coins now.

      It is a Femmer, you can exchange it for a single piece of candy at select stores in Denmark.

      This used to happen alot to me when traveling to foreign countries as well. When I started to use creditcard exclusively it stopped.
