This is a playword with “les bronzés font du ski”. A famous movie from the 80’s.
    There is no message.

It is far from their first or worse drawing on a similar situation. [For example after the deadly earthquake in Turkey a couple of years back](https://www.euronews.com/culture/2023/02/09/is-it-freedom-of-speech-or-insult-charlie-hebdos-earthquake-caricature-made-turks-angry) or for an [earthquake in Morrocco](https://charliehebdo.fr/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/1625-06-juin-debbouzemaroc.jpg).

    That’s their entire brand.

I’m all for satire and criticism of society via humor, but man this was too soon.

Not totally sure. Maybe it’s Schadenfreude – rich kids got burned? They are known for black humor, and sometimes that just comes across wrong.

It’s still freedom of speech. Suing them is idiotic.

    >But innocent **pre-teens** who had no control over a situation, and he’s making fun of them?

I don’t want to be disrespectful, but wasn’t the youngest victim 14 years old?
If not, did they really let pre-teens (children eleven or twelve years of age) into a bar??

  6. It’s just a Satirical dark humour sketch. There’s not really much of a message it’s just a joke play on ” Les bronzés font du ski”, a movie. There’s nothing more to it. Just like the one about the case of Emile the 11 yo who disappeared or Gisèle Pelicot it’s litteraly just a very dark humour joke.

Apparently the Charlie Hebdo cartoon title is a reference to the movie “[French Fried Vacation 2](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_Fried_Vacation_2)”, specifically the movies original French title “Les Bronzés font du ski”.

As i haven’t seen the movie, i can’t comment whether it’s just making reference of the title or whether it’s also making reference to certain contents of the movie.

My guess is, that they were also trying to get more attention for their magazine, which AFAIK hasn’t been much in the news lately. So likely, at least in part, just very questionable click-bait.

This is trash and they have no respect for the victims families

It is the Crans Montana city council and all the tourists there who decided to continue their business and ski joys just hours after the horrible fire.

    ”free speech”.

Also Charlie has always been a bastion of the left, so well, my opinion is that these young ”bourgeois” kids are an easy target for the usual parisian left ”gauche caviar”.

Parisians have a particular disdain for french ”exilés fiscaux” so well, golden french youth kids dying in a luxury mountain resort is an especially juicy target of choice for these people.

    RIP to the victims..

  12. People saying it’s dark humour but I really fail to see the “humour” part.
