Considering his party was at the helm for the entirety of it, to even blame immigration is still his party’s failing, so I don’t understand how the scapegoat changes anything.

How come the other guys aren’t getting any blame.

They were swapping roles throughout this.

Seems stupid.  More people means more housing needed.  It’s not the fault of migrants, it the fault of government issuing too many visas but still Harris wasn’t wrong.

It’s a shame to see the council waste time and resource on performative partisan nonsense.

Performative virtue signalling that will achieve nothing

This is quite big even if it’s just performative. It sends a signal that the government cannot constantly scapegoat migrants for the shortcomings on government policy. The only real solution is to build more housing. They however will not do that as they want to push free market economics and supply would drive prices down. Fuck the prices..build more. ..and fuck their developer mates

Government inaction and abdication of social housing to the private sector is the sole reason for the housing crisis.

Of course, he and his contemporaries were there throughout the lead up to this crisis as back benchers and ministers, so he and them are always going to pass the buck.

Start a nationwide petition to remove 50% of their wages this year or alternatively, refuse to pay and boycott LPT in response to their abysmal performance on housing.

The comments are beyond cruelty. Think for a second and stop getting seeped into culture war issues.
None of us are wealthy, not me, not you, not the migrants.

There’s two parties in this country. The wealthy elites and everyone else. And have I got news for you you’re not a wealthy elite. Now imagine them saying this about any other group of us.

That we dont have a right to housing?
A basic human fundamental right under the UN charter.

Like saying food and water is a human right.
It’s a barbaric message to say so out of touch with people and I can’t understand why more folks aren’t angry.

As an Indian immigrant in Ireland, I wish more Irish were aware that your government is actively encouraging Indians to enter your visa mill universities by hosting regular roadshows across India. https://india.educationinireland.live/

Rather than placing all blame on Indian students struggling for housing, consider asking your government who is profiting from this.

I have a sneaking suspicion that one of the reasons they are bringing in so many foreigners especially to the hospitals is so the recruiters and agency staff can pocket the profits. Their business friends profit from migration then blame the migrants to push the blame away from themselves. Scum behaviour in my view.
