China is losing a gold opportunity to gain a lot of soft power by not being kind and moderate at diplomacy in these times. I guess you can’t teach an old dog new tricks… gotta love their red lines.

I think we should cross a “red line” really hard in a really very public way.
Oh noo. Not another red line. That one in the sand also?

Imagine what would happen if the Chinese sent a naval presence to defend Greenland from the US. The US will have to back down rather than starting WW3 which they might not win and all for possessing Greenland which they don’t actually need to own in the first place. The public would go apeshit.
I would expect that they would ask for no immediate demands for recompense, the Chinese always play the long game. The consequences for the US would be enormous, and they wouldn’t recover.

You can’t make the status quo a red line. That’s not how it works.

Let us cross the red line then.

EU just need to take 10% guts confront China, then Greenland would be safe.
