The owners of the dog should serve lengthy sentences.
I don’t imagine many XL Bully owners have much worth suing for, but I hope this kid takes them for everything they’ll ever have.
Dog owner should be made liable for all present and future medical bills related to the attack
I love animals. I don’t say this lightly. All XL bully’s (and some similarly breed for aggression breeds) need to be put down.
I’m sorry if this offends you but the love you have for your pet doesn’t trump the safety of children like this.

These dogs, malinois, pits etc. all need to be banned outright including breeder ownership. The vast majority of savage attacks originate from these dog breeds and no amount of “oh it’s not the dog it’s the owner and training” can justify their existence at this point. They have a proven aggressive disposition and the eradication of these attacks is worth a few hurt feelings of a few pet owners.
These dogs (that are already legislated for and therefore less commonly owned), still account for the same amount of absolute attacks as all other breeds across the spectrum. Training, experience and environment do play a role, but consistently it’s these breeds that represent the majority, despite the massive prejudice against them from public perception. You’d think that with that, owners of these dogs would be _more_ vigilant, but obviously not.

Is it an Irish thing? I see way more of these types of dogs than in continental Europe. Sad to say I quite regularly see homeless people with one of these huge vicious looking dogs next to them.
