    This fucking timeline.

If ANYONE had told me in 2011 that “in 15 years Europe will be deploying troops to Greenland to defend against a possible US invasion ordered by Donald Trump” Id have asked if I can have what you’re smoking.

Just a (symbolic) beginning, hopefully to be expanded to a robust NATO (European) presence in future.

    > However, the European Nato deployment consists of only a few dozen personnel as part of Danish-led joint exercises called Operation Arctic Endurance.

This is not a NATO deployment.

Denmark invited various countries for a joint exercise in Greenland. Details are not yet known, like when it would happen, the scope etc.

These ‘Troops’ being send right now by Germany, France, Sweden, are scouting groups which are necessary to figure out the logistics etc prior to the exercise. In Germany’s case it’s a group of 13 officers. The French are sending 15.

What is remarkable is, that this is **not** a joint NATO exercise which Denmark is organising. But Denmark inviting the countries individually, outside of NATO.

  4. what a joke NATO had become, protection from each other, when the country it was designed to fight lays waste to Eastern Europe.

i even start to see why america would doubt that Europe would fight russia or china

    >The problem is there’s not a thing that Denmark can do about it if Russia or China wants to occupy Greenland

That’s why they’re in NATO you fucking moron

    Canada is also sending troops.

“Additionally, the Netherlands and Canada will be deploying forces to the Danish territory in the high North, officially to take part in a planned NATO military exercise, Operation Arctic Endurance.”

`Russia’s embassy in Belgium meanwhile expressed “serious concern” at what was unfolding in the Arctic, accusing Nato of building up a military presence there “under the false pretext of a growing threat from Moscow and Beijing”.`

Shut up Russia, this isn’t about you

This is an insane timeline, but I’m so happy we’re stepping up.

Can’t wait for the orange noodle to comment they’re “very annoyed by this”

The (usually right wing) airheads making fun of the small number of troops sent apparently believe Troops can be spawned in like a C&C game.

Placement, outfit and supply of troops takes more than a few hours notice. At least when you’re not running a global military empire.

We don’t need just officers. We need a real constant security force until Trump and his crooks are gone.

All the “strongly worded letter” people have suddenly gone very quiet.

  13. Isn’t this a tactic from Trump to draw European troops away from Ukraine?
