Dodici anni fa, la Verkhovna Rada ucraina approvò le leggi sulla dittatura del 16 gennaio. Con l’intento di reprimere la Rivoluzione della Dignità, hanno proibito attività come indossare il casco durante la protesta pacifica e montare tende senza il permesso della polizia, ed hanno esentato dalla punizione la polizia antisommossa che ha commesso atti criminali contro i manifestanti.
Imperterriti, gli ucraini si sono messi le pentole in testa e sono rimasti nel campo di protesta. Nemmeno per un momento pensarono alla speleologia.

I remember Russians mocking Ukrainian protesters for this (wearing cookware). “Haha, potheads!”
The subtext was that Russians are way too smart to protest their regime, they’re wise and understand the world. They know that the regime is all-powerful, and resisting can only make it worse, but those kissing up to their masters can see some scraps from their tables. Maybe.
Dang, even Thor is on Ukraine’s side.
