A total failure of the Irish educational system.
The land of saints and scholars, and holocaust deniers.
What’s the figures for the moon landings and 9/11?
There are also prominent flat earthers out there too
> online survey was conducted by the Global Strategy group and involved 1,000 participants aged 18 years and over selected from a database of Irish people who have agreed to take part in surveys
That is not a random sample
This is very worrying.
I’m 24. I’d classify myself as a young adult. I don’t understand how anybody could finish their junior cert and not have read extensively about the Holocaust. We even had a survivor of bergen-belsen come in at one point to speak to us about the holocaust.
It makes me wonder how much far-right propaganda is being fed to this 10% on social-media and where the posts originate.
“1 in 10 Irish Irish kids think it would be funny or edgy to say they believe the holocaust is a myth, when asked that question in the middle of Israeli genocide in Gaza”
More probably would say they were Jedi religious if you asked
Hmm…how many are saying this just to be edgy? Not saying that there are no idiots running around, but I said some things in my youth just because I could….
That’s what we call sarcasm
The premise of the article is that Irish children are not taught about the holocaust is that true or is it a myth? So, 90% do?
>according to a survey
It’s paywalled, can anyone share who made the survey?
This article smells funny. What’s the point in pushing this slop?
