Be thankful because he is under no obligation to take a peaceful route as the King of Norway is unwilling to give him the Nobel prize.

  2. Nuthetes on

He’ll change his mind next week once he’s forgot about this.

  3. Technical-Green-9983 on

He was probably told how bad this would blow up in his face buy actual military leaders

  4. Maybe all the Republicans speaking up about it made him say this now

  5. The EU destroyed him without firing a single shot.

(Imagine the EU making the same statement, but the other way around, like “we won’t use military force to defend ourselves.” Everyone would be screaming: haha, weaklings, we broke you.
But when Trump says something like that after making threats, so many people write: “you’re lucky, Europeans, you were spared.”)

Right until he will back to his mar-a-lago creep cave and miller start whispering again

Only until the big football event is over? Cause that’s supposed to attract a huge amount of people from Europe.

  8. Stokholmo on

    >But I won’t do that. Okay. Now everyone says, oh, good. That’s probably the biggest statement I made, because people thought I would use force. I don’t have to use force. I don’t want to use force. I won’t use force.
    […]

    >All the United States is asking for is a place called Greenland

Translation: “I will not use force, because you will give me what I want.”

  9. berejser on

The senile fool confused Greenland and Iceland more than once.

  10. SankaraMarx on

People also didnt think he would encourage the Jan 6 insurrection

Trust his words at tour own peril EU

  11. Specialist_Baby_9905 on

I actually listened to the speech.

He did not rule it out.

  12. CyberRagingRoastX on

Yeah, that’s what he says for today.. Tomorrow is a different opinion.

We can trust him just as much as we could trust putin that he wouldn’t invade Ukraine

  14. Working_Historian970 on

Hey remember when Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said “There are no plans or intentions to attack Ukraine.” He went on to say, “There is no reason to fear some kind of escalatory scenario.”?

I don’t know why I thought of that.

The fact is that attacking Greenland in winter is very hard. He may be waiting for the brief summer before doing anything. Time to bolster defences and accelerate decoupling from dependance on America.

That position changed like… 5 minutes ago. Then he was back to that statement, and in the last seconds he changed his mind again.

  17. botsoundingname on

Oh so it was just a market manipulation tactic again like usual?

The economic threats are just as valid… Nothing about his desire for Greenland will result in a net positive for Trump or the world. Best case we see disruptions that impact markets world wide. Worst case we see the US collapse as the world turns on the US for use of economic pressures. Between commodities the US needs and the amount of financial debt held outside the US the world has a lot of ability to impact the US without firing a shot. Especially since Trump has been burning all of his allies with threats and exploitative deals. Politicians who cave to Trump will lose future elections in their own countries so there is no value to playing Trump’s game.

Not because he doesn’t want to use military force but because he’s facing backlash and resistance by military people, politicians and media. And he can’t use military force without the permission of Congress which I’m sure won’t give permission to do anything against allies. If he doesn’t wait for congress they can jail him. This person can’t be trusted, I can’t believe how Americans chose him for president, what are they thinking!

  20. Masheeko on

Translation: “I was facing an internal revolt in congress, with my base, and with middle officers and had no choice to back down. Also, aircraft carriers don’t do well in the arctic.”

This man is not trustworthy, but using the military on an ally when your base actively opposes it and congress does not want to fund it is tricky. Now, does that mean he won’t threaten it again? Probably not. Expect more purges so he won’t be challenged next time.

“So, I’ve got an idea. Brillante idea. Best idea in the world. I’ll tell them I don’t do it…. then I do it! Amazing Idea, they won’t expect it. No one have ever did that. FACT. I often have great ideas. Everyone say it so, I don’t know, that must be true. Some might even say it’s a strategy, which isn’t the same word than tragedy, some just learned the difference”.

  22. fusilaeh700 on

    Trump could take Greenland anytime.

What he is waiting for? For Europe’s “permission”.

We shouldn’t give it to him. If he wants it, he should be forced to invade a NATO ally.

    Thats a very high price.

Lots of people in the usa wont go with him.

  23. JumpingAround44 on

Get him to a eldercare home.

Man is out of his mind in general.

Impose some damn limits on your leaders, older than retirement, too old to rule anything.

  24. Suspicious_Place1270 on

still means nothing, this man’s word has no basic ground beneath it to be considered of any value

  25. I dont rule it out. Wanted a peace prize – then semi annexed venezuela and attempts it on greenland. US bases need to go.

  26. JagBak73 on

Why would anyone trust what this deranged degenerate has to say about anything? . He’s a sociopath, a pathological liar; a grade school bully.

  27. this is what he says today. Yesterday, he said something else. Nobody knows what he’ll say tomorrow, not even agent orange

  28. Equivalent_Flan_5695 on

I don’t believe 1 word that comes out of this fascist demented cheeto.

  29. Mandilloran on

So let me give an example from history and then you have your own thoughts on Trump ruling out military force to take over Greenland……..

Poland (1934–1939): After signing a German-Polish Non-Aggression Pact in 1934 that was meant to last for 10 years, Hitler spoke of harmony and peace. In early 1939, he began demanding territory, and on September 1, 1939, he invaded Poland, triggering World War II.

  30. Few_Afternoon_6618 on

Trump confused Iceland and Greenland – expect that Iceland will be invaded soon, and then the department of defense (now department of war) will change the term “not use military force” to mean “invade” just as the gulf of mexico is now the gulf of America. Nothing that comes out of this mans asshole of a mouth can be believed.
