Ukraine’s newly appointed Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said one of the country’s key strategic goals in the war is to inflict losses on Russian forces at a rate of up to 50,000 soldiers eliminated per month.
Speaking during an off-the-record meeting with journalists, Fedorov said that Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated about 35,000 Russian troops last month, with all losses confirmed by video evidence.
“The strategic goal is to kill 50,000 Russians per month. If we reach this figure, we will see what happens to the enemy,” Fedorov said.
According to Fedorov, Russia treats manpower as expendable, but signs are already emerging that it is struggling to replenish its losses.

“Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated about 35,000 Russian troops last month”.
To get the true number, do we still divide this by three, or is it already five?

Let’s not forget that the Russians don’t have to be there. They choose to be there and they choose to die for square meters of land while living in the largest country on the planet

Hm. Not sure I’m fully aboard with this approach.
Body count didn’t work out so great as a success figure in past wars. Best example, Vietnam.

The death toll of this war is already insane to me. I confess I haven’t paid enough attention to what it was like in previous conflicts during my life like Iraq and Afghanistan, but most of those victims were people who lived there. Russia is just sending numbers of men equivalent to my entire hometown into the wood chipper every month, for no reason at all. They could just leave.
I recently saw a video of an American guy who visited the front lines and like him, I can only admire the resolve of the defenders. It really showed how neither side has the means to escalate the conflict further, the conflict zone this abyssal wasteland of bodies, ruins and broken machines. Russia clearly has nothing more they can commit than ever more expensive bodies to throw into the grinder. If Europe/NATO can tip the balance in favor of Ukraine, I doubt that Russia can form a response.
We shouldn’t slack off in Poland or the Baltics, but I highly doubt Russia will attack there. With what? With who? They’ve already lost, and the best way to make that clear to them is to help push them out of Ukraine.

Extremely ambitious goal. I hope they can reach it

I know there’s a lot of propaganda around death tolls but even taking the lower estimates that Russia has lost, we are way past regional conflicts like Afghanistan or Vietnam and heading for WW2 numbers.
The UK were fighting from the first to the last day of WW2 in almost every theatre that the war took place in and the Military Death toll for the British in WW2 was approx 383,000, does anyone think Russia is less than 300,000? With Fedorov’s target how long until it’s exceeded?

I dont think its real even 50000 if we seen 1:5 that is 10k ukraines killed vs russians killed might be for news

Unfortunately Russians seem to such zombie people that nothing changes their mindset. *All kids died in a pointless war, well I guess it was just fate. Nothing we could do.*

Pointless discussion about Russian losses, its just another frontline – media one. Both sides have it huge. Don’t think that U-forces are invincible, they also dying like flies… all depends, which side propaganda you prefer to listen.

No need for Ukraine to surrender, just make the losses unbearable. Belligerent Russians will eventually run out. That’s when you can have a lasting peace.

Make it impossible to justify the cost of the fight

Remember days Ukraine was showing 2000 death (according to NAFO) daily around 23/24 so these numbers were fake? Cause now official Ukraine’s defense account is showing lesser numbers of casualties of Russia than back then
