They literally told you in English what it means
Think of it as a very informal way of saying “get it” or “understand”. Like some Americans would use “comprende”.

Kumam is an old street language for “I understand”.
Kumom contains a typo. First they told you the correct version and at the end told you what the meaning is. He didn’t tell you that he’s telling you tho so that’s why you got confused I guess.
