      He was ill for a very long time. I think it took him out of work for long periods of time.

      I remember him as a young lad. He had great fortitude and humour despite his injuries. A good one, gone too soon.

      Met him once when he was a speaker at a college event. Seemed a nice guy. But as a voter, I don’t believe he should have continued as MEP when he couldnt fully do his duty.
