May have?
I’ve known two people in my life who worked in senior positions of procurement, buying, supply chain etc.
One was electronics etc (doesn’t work in the position anymore), had zero problems telling everyone how much more we’re paying for everything.
The other currently works for a major player in retail (food predominantly) and has no problem confirming that we’re overpaying for everything.
I myself work for an online retailer of groceries. We import EVERYTHING because of how much higher the prices are here.
For example, it’s cheaper for us to buy Barry’s tea from a wholesaler up north than it is directly from Barry’s.
We’re being fleeced in all aspects and we’ll continue to do nothing more than whinge about it.
I’ve just bought a new house last summer and noticed this massively.
Everything is the same price across the board at most times. When there is a sale it’s almost immediately the same sale price everywhere. There are no deals to be gotten anymore.
Full price is basically just a scam these days. So whatever “sale” price turns up multiple times a year in every shop for the same thing is the real price. You rarely do any better.
Can they investigate Amazon too no? Dont Amazon force your marketplace listing to be the lowest price anywhere. So even if you have in your physical store it can’t be cheaper than your listing and then they take their fee
Rip of Ireland bought a SSD abroad. Just under100 eur. Same brand type here 159 and that is with 20 eur sales off. FY. Curry’s
Was it only the CCPC that didn’t know that?
# “Consumers may have overpaid”
Ya don’t say. We’re overpaying for EVERYTHING in this Country.
It’s so clear, and easily seen. Go onto screwfix uk. Pick something and note the price.
Change to screwfix Ireland, note the price, and do the exchange.
I mean, we are getting gouged.
