That’s a toughie, US General Hodges, but threats of invasion from the other side don’t help taking the needed steps against the invasion from the eastern side. 😀

It’s astonishing that we’re still purchasing oil and gas from Russia. But history does suggest that we won’t change course until the consequences force us to.

I realize this is from a Ukrainian source, and their primary focus is on Russia as the main adversary.

However, as recent events have shown, Europe’s enemies are not limited to Russia—they also include the United States, given its desire to annex the territory of a European state.

Therefore, in addition to the general’s call to pay attention to threats from Russia, I would add that Europe would do well to start phasing out American goods and services wherever European alternatives exist, begin winding down the U.S. military presence on its soil, and, as we now see, reduce its energy dependence on American oil and LNG

  4. Says the bloke whose president has spent the last year taking Putin’s side on the matter?

  5. BankBackground2496 on

He is part of the US administration that cut off aid to Ukraine and trying to impose a peace that give Russia more than what it took by war.

Edit: he is not part of current Trump administration.

Yeah, Europe should buy oil from the US instead. They haven’t been a threat to Europe’s security at all! /s

Yeah yeah, nice try dude… But what you are trying to do is so obvious, is your general rank for show?

  8. At the risk of getting downvoted, I have to agree with Hodges. More than just a few European countries are still not pulling their weight, when it comes to supporting Ukraine. Also when it comes to continued trade with Russia.

In short, “stop buying from Russia and buy from us instead”. As if EU wants more dependance on USA then they already have.

Is this a general or a salesman?

Bold star after IS threatened to annex an European region 😅

Europe does know. Europe does what it can do without hurting it’s own economy too much which will bring right wing populists in power.

Eastern Germany is already AFD country….

  12. It took a few years, but I think we are very well aware of our adversaries, both in the east and in the west. And the latest invasion threat did not even come from the Russians (although they love to threaten), but General Hodges’ own country. The latest batch of troops was not sent to Lithuania, but to Greenland.

    You are the baddies now.

Everytime a High ranking American critizice Europe on energy related topics remind yourself that Americans really wish that Europe was completely dependent on them for energy

US generals should keep their opinions to themselves, or their pedo leader.

I don’t think Europe doesn’t get it. Most of us do. The problem is muscovite and chn (and in some cases US) have infiltrated EU in energy, economy, manufacture and other spheres. We are dependent. We must learn to be less dependent

  16. Free-Internet1981 on

Cutting of Russia only benefits the US energy sector 😒

  17. realmandontnvidia on

    1. Yes
    2. They aren’t dependent-ish on the oil/gas
    3. “Buy our oil please?”

Putin has been exposed as a paper tiger. If Europe is under threat, it doesn’t seem to be particularly serious at the moment.

Russia has already lost 1.2 million soldiers, and for what exactly?

  19. Fluid-Piccolo-6911 on

having trump as putins puppet isn’t helping.. and the typical american put down is getting annoying.

  20. .. And yet Trump threatened to take away the military gear to Ukraine because he didnt get the dirt he wanted.
Dear USA. Stop trying to be the moral police of the world when your own president is doing everything to destabilize Europe.

  21. Scomosuckseggs on

Europe also needs to recognise the enemy within, and close all US bases in Europe. We need to recognise we are flanked on either side by enemies now.

  22. ProductGuy48 on

Europe knows but Europe is also a democracy where politicians need to win elections. They can’t cut as much as they’d want because half of the population in each country is made up of dimwits

  23. RebelliousInNature on

Yeah, so you’re aware you’ve been half assing dealing with that because your idiot president is a Putin puppet?
