      I kind of like being able to get off and stretch my legs on a long haul flight to be honest.

      Very convenient but also daunting.
      I have done 14 hours on a plane…22 feels really an eternity

      If I remember correctly, the CEO said these flights were expected to be about 30% more expensive than current option because of the convenience.

      TBH I really value the stopover. It’s a good opportunity to get out, stretch your legs, eat proper food, shower etc or even see a new places for a day/night.

      I dont see the appeal. You can get a 22hr 30min ticket now with a short ~1hr stop in the middle. I don’t see *any* advantage of this non stop flight, and it’ll be less fuel efficient and more expensive

      I’m a dual aus/uk citizen, and having taken most of the possible routes to Australia (including via asia, the middle east, direct to perth, and the “backwards” route via the US) I believe it.

      I would hands-down take this option over any other if it’s priced resonably.

      There have been direct flights London to Perth for a while now. Prices are typically 50% higher than those with a layover.

      £1000 via Qatar or £1500 direct.

      Will be interesting to see how their economy tickets to sell. I can see 20+ hours on business being doable. That same amount of time in economy is quite daunting. The stopover in that situation is more appealing to me

      I can see it being popular if they’re priced accordingly for those who cba with the faff of layovers and connecting flights.

      As long as they’re comfortable enough to sleep decently and stretch your legs. 22 hours on a plane would be a bit much, unless you’re fortunate to be upgraded to first/business class.

      Theres already nonstop aus uk flights no? Pretty sure london to Perth exists

      I think that unless I could somehow afford to fly first class, I would always want to take a break somewhere in between for a couple of days. Sitting in a narrow plane seat with hardly any legroom and the person in front reclining into my knees would be hellish for that length of flight.

      I’d love a no-stop flight from UK to Aus, BUT this assumes I get a place to lay down and sleep and the price is reasonable. Personally I would like to see a plane with a dinning and sleeping area that you have slots in.

      Stopovers are really underrated. Used to work for an international company that involved paid U.K. – Japan flights. Stopovers were allowed as long as it was under 24 hours between connecting flights. Had a wonderful time gaming the system and spending ~23 hours in Singapore/Hong Kong/Saigon…

      avoiding that obligatory stayover in singapore will be a big plus.
