Locally, a former Conservative leader defected to an opposition party. The then local Conservative leader that replaced them issued a statement that cast the defecting ex-Conservative leader as someone who was mentally ill. It’s the Conservatives modus operandi – slinging very nasty accusations at opponents and defectors.
I cannot abide by Suella Braverman or Reform U.K.’s extreme politics. I also cannot abide by nasty tropes that play on prejudice about mental illness either!

Just when you think with Farage enthusiastically hoovering up all the dregs the Tories might have a chance of becoming vaugely centre right, up Kemi pops and reminds you that no, they really are the nasty party and always will be.
Baverman is utterly vile. There’s enough to condemn her over without resorting to cheap jabs about her mental health.

Reform not doing much better in their criticism by suggesting educated people with good jobs can’t have mental health issues. Good to know they also know her full medical history somehow.

Which suggests to me that she did face some mental health struggles, did make the party aware, and they used it against her later.

But it’s nothing to do with mental health.
