      There is absolutely no way that this may happen in 2027…

      That’s not going to happen, and it’s unfortunate that at least a substantial proportion of the Ukrainian government and people seem to believe that it will. 

      Not only is there a decent chance the war will still be going on by then, which scuppers accession chances in itself, there’s no way the EU admits a huge, poor, still very corrupt even if improving, devastated state with a colossal enough agricultural sector to reshape the entire CAP in less than five years from first being granted candidate status. It’s just not feasible.

      It seems out of touch with reality. For security, a mutual defense treaty or something similar could be concluded.

      That is as likely to happen as the United states joining the EU.

      What a mad lad saying one year is his target when other nations, not involved in a giant war have been waiting literal decades.

      And he needs serious attention at an election as well as a team for succession to his leadership role.

      Some times like this I wonder if he’s that stupid . This is never going to happen. Assuming everything else is perfect , it will be years if not decade+, before Ukraine opens and closes all chapters of ascension.

      Pre-war Ukraine was not EU worthy, and bombed Ukraine is not EU worthy either.

      I fully support Ukraine but let’s add a decade to be relalistic. After the war is over, they will have to deal with the corruption first.
