Rosatom has facilities that are unique in the world, such as the re-enrichment of reprocessed uranium.
Trade with Rosatom is therefore inevitable.
What’s the alternative? Stop the power plants?
Reminder: [France is a net exporter of enriched uranium](https://www.sfen.org/rgn/le-nucleaire-francais-nest-pas-sous-emprise-russe-fact-checking-du-rapport-greenpeace/), it isn’t dependent on Russia. The re-enrichment of [reprocessed uranium](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reprocessed_uranium) is currently outsourced to Russia because there are no enrichment cascades for reprocessed uranium in the civilized world and there also isn’t enough demand to justify building one right now. France is focusing on [expanding its capacity to enrich natural uranium](https://www.world-nuclear-news.org/Articles/Orano-to-expand-capacity-of-French-enrichment-plan) instead, because that’s what other countries want to buy from us.
