Ciao!

The interface of UBS is the worst I have ever seen. The whole thing is designed by autistic nerds with zero idea of user-friendliness. Every single possible conceivable piece of data must be present. I curse every year I have to locate my tax declaration documents.

I wish they had a ”simple mode” for the 99% of customers who aren’t professional traders but just want to see expenses, amounts, transfer money and pay bills.

Total limit is 10k for all cards combined, you can use that amount. As of today, you have used 35.85 of that limit, + you have paid in I guess 500.-? Which is the excess you have on that specific card.

    Indeed weirdly displayed and confusing.

It takes some time to account for payments properly, especially if the payment is not an invoice but just account transfer.

The numbers at the bottom are sometimes outdated, the “still available” is the best indication of what your actual limit is. In this case, it’s 9964.15 and the -35.85 is what you owe. The 464.15 might be the leftover from the previous month’s statement and it can be positive or negative too (e.g. if you paid your credit card but then got a refund).

I honestly struggle with the same issue, between already invoiced positions and positions since last invoice and monthly limit and whatnot I have completely given up on understanding how much I can spend on the card. I just resorted to paying the bills and topping up the card on the spot when I hit a limit (or using a different card). UBS Visa card has really become my fallback solution when everything else fails for whatever reason.

I too found this confusing, and assumed it was because of pending transactions, so for three months in a row I overpaid my bill by increasing amounts until I realised what an idiot I had been, and ended up with a couple of k “extra” to spend on my card from chronic overpayment

    Yes, I am slow

I have cancelled my UBS credit card because it just didnt make sense. Even after paying the bill the amount stayed until it passed a certain day of the month. I went back to Swisscard. Very easy. You have a used amount, pay it and the bar resets.

Some explanation: The reason is that the period for credit cards is usually middle of month till middle of month because the vendor has like 20 days to finally deduct the amount from the credit balance and the bill of the credit card is by end of the month and that is why it is so confusing.

So here the CHF 35.85.- is the current spending period and the invoice of CHF 464.15.- is the final bill from last period.

  8. The -35.85 is the most important one. This means you still owe them this amount. This would mean that you’ve paid with the card somewhere around 500 but paid back only 464.15. If you go into the card details you will see the exact sums.

The only important number here is 9‘964.15, that is the amount you currently still can spend. Only that number is updated immediatly after spending.

The 464.15 is from the previous month. If you pay up all your spendings before the end of your billing month, the invoice will then actually be 0.

464.15chf is your last invoice for the previous month (considering this is recent screenshot, in December you have spent a total of 461.15chf on this credit card).

-35.85chf is the current spending for the month of January on the credit card. You have bought 36chf worth of stuff using this CC.

What you can use is what is written under “Available something something”

    The rest is irrelevant

I can’t see it with the blackened areas but you should see it somewhere

The 464.15 is the amount of your last invoice. That will stay there until the next invoice date even if you’ve paid it.

Your card has a limit of 10K, of which currently you’ve used 35.85.

I had a huge fight over the phone with them due to this. I am coming from CS and it was much more simple. I dont even understand why they have this option „pay to card“ when it depends on which date you pay.
