Seems like the helicopter also carried their foreign minister and some local leaders. I don’t know how true it is but in some other subreddits they are saying that Reis was seen as a candidate to become the Supreme Leader of Iran and the FM was groomed to become the next president.
Apparently up to 20 rescue workers also seem to be gone due to the bad weather.
