Heartbreaking to read, Surviving winter shouldn’t be a weapon solidarity and real support matter more than ever right now.

Even in brutal cold, the resilience people show is unreal. Hoping the truce holds long enough for warmth, light, and a bit of normal life to get through.

One could get banned from here for suggesting that Ukraine should make russia feel the same.

If russians could get a taste of not having heating and electricity in the winter then maybe the war would not be so popular, or maybe then putin would stop attacking energy infrastructure, when he could feel the consequences.

    All very theoretical

Research the DIY vertical shaft, lawnmower engine powered DC generator.

It should be fairly easy to source parts and build, you’ll need an inverter to convert to AC but at least DC power is useful for lighting and small RV type appliances.

Meanwhile here in Bucharest I’ve had 2 days without heating (some minor pipe damage in the neighbourhood) with well above 0°C outside temperatures and it’s already quite uncomfortable, it’s hard for me to imagine what the brave Ukrainian people are going through day by day, during relentless and savage attacks.

Such fortitude. Putin’s Russia is truly a heinous country.

They rather freeze to death than being r*aped, tortured, looted, deported: I wonder why.

Im in Kharkiv, and we had the shit bombed out of the infrastructure monday evening. Heat and water were restored quickly (thank you, fixer folks!), but the associated power surge fried my electric unit- i haven’t had power in my apartment since Monday. Every day I go to a food court to charge all of my shit and i share my table with others in the same position. The elevator got fried too, so I gotta climb 14 stories any time I need to go out and about. I have no idea when an electrician will be able to come fix my power, but i consider myself lucky- there are others with significantly greater problems.

Sorry for the rambling. I’m not ukrainian, but I’m a friend, and friends don’t let friends suffer alone.
