    >The EU office will act as a single access point for Indians exploring authorised study and work routes across EU member states.

    >Dhruv Krishnaraj, co-founder and director of Student Circus, said the move comes at a moment when Indian students are actively reassessing their options. “The opening of an EU Legal Gateway Office is a timely and welcome move, particularly as traditional student destinations such as the US, UK, Canada and Australia tighten immigration pathways, recalibrate post-study work regimes and raise compliance thresholds,” he said.

This is madness! So other country are tighten immigrantion from India but EU does the contrary… I wonder why! What a disastrous deal…

    >The announcement comes as European destinations step up outreach to Indian talent at a time **when traditional study and work destinations such as the US, UK, Canada and Australia are tightening immigration pathways and post-study work rules.**

    Wondering why is that?

Yeah because our universities aren’t overrun already…

No thanks, if you care about salaries in Europe you have to be against this. If you care about housing prices you have to be against it.

Only one who wants it are the employers who can keep salaries down and universities who lives on the business of importing students to the benefit of no one.

    Before more illiterate racists comment,

    > “Employers and professionals will still need to comply with country-specific visa norms, language requirements, and licensing frameworks,”

    And
    > “The Gateway Office acts as a central information hub, helping students understand country-specific visa processes, in-study work rights, qualification recognition and post-study pathways, which are often poorly understood at the outset,”

    And
    > “The Gateway won’t remove country rules, but it reduces confusion and mismatches, helping professionals apply where demand and policy are already aligned,”

    Great.

After the doors close on Canada and US, plus some restrictions on UK, you can notice and see the numbers, Indians are already flooding Europe. Thank you for making it more easy.

The slogan of the far right in Portugal is already “this is not Bangladesh”.

Thank you EU for making the problem worse.

India has over 1 billion people. They are not anyone’s friend. Soon they will overtake all social media and will easily push any agenda they want. The last thing we want is their people here too.

Merz and Ursula only care about one thing: ushering AfD to power and providing them political ammunition. From Merz’s normalization of AfD talking points like “Stadtbild” to these moves.

Germany has no need for workers. Germany has the largest unemployment rate in last 12 years. German economy is dying. Negative GDP growth last two years and 0.2% growth in 2025. The worst among the developed economies.

Many ponder the question, of how long the EU can survive. The real question is probably rather how long we can survive the EU. Living in Europe is like waking up every week and finding the people in Brussels hard at work on some new insane apocalyptic scam nobody wanted.

Did anybody in europe asked for this?? I literally see only comments against this

In hindsight Merkel was wrong and now VDL is rolling out a failed policy across the EU. This shows how weak the EU’s negotiating position was when this is part of the deal.

I think this is the way the right wing gaslights people into believing untrue things. Hardly anything about the immigration policy, in terms of number of Indian students, is likely going to change. The universities still have the right to choose students based on availability and merit and the govt still puts Highly Skilled Migrants (HSM) visa requirements for them in the job market. Unless you have degree mills (like what happened in Canada) who are able to provide education to Indian students making them eligible in the job market with HSM salary thresholds, nothing is going to change.
