Ciao a tutti,
Insieme a mia moglie stiamo cercando di acquistare una proprietà e Vilvoorde rientra proprio nella nostra zona in termini di budget e comodità per raggiungere Bruxelles (in treno).
Presto visiteremo una proprietà (e zone circostanti) che dalle foto sembra corrispondere perfettamente, che si troverebbe nella zona di Broek e più precisamente nel progetto 4 Fonteinen (dove la casa è individuata sulla mappa)
Abbiamo sentito cose contrastanti su Vilvoorde e in particolare sull’area intorno alla stazione ferroviaria, quindi ci chiedevamo se in generale fosse sicura e tranquilla intorno all’area cerchiata. O se la gente del posto ha altri consigli su cosa controllare quando andremo lì a visitare 🙂

I wouldn’t buy anything in that area. Just my feeling. Have you considered anything slightly further away in the Flemish Brabant?
Very quiet under ‘the viaduct’.
Shithole with a nice garden.
I would avoid, there is/was a lot of industry and If remember well there are the wastewater treatment plant and the waste incinerator not so far… for fresh air 😀
Have you looked around there on streetview?
I grew up on the other side of the bridge/forest. Always loved it, my parents do too, still live there. though it did change quite a bit since. the kids there are growing less shy… to put it politely. It’s dealing with the same issues a lot of places in vilvoorde are dealing with, which, in my opinion, are partially due to political influences. That part of vilvoorde is being heavily pushed to be a residential part, but it is actually smack in the middle of a lot of industry. If your budget allows it, maybe look into kassei, fabourgh or far west. They are a more residential and out of the way of the industry.
As long as you don’t lower your broek in public you should be fine!
