









Giovedì scorso, 29 gennaio, il War Heritage Institute ha trasportato più di 100 giovani nei campi di concentramento e di sterminio nazisti di Auschwitz-Birkenau. Sostenuto dal Ministero della Difesa e dal Ministro della Difesa Theo Francken, il viaggio commemorativo mirava a sensibilizzare i giovani sugli orrori avvenuti lì.

Oh good! Nothing says *‘never again’* like a remembrance trip sponsored by a defence minister who tries excusing a genocide in real time. Auschwitz as a branding exercise: solemn photos, moral posturing, zero reflection. Apparently the lesson for ‘young people’ is that genocide is horrific – unless it’s happening now, to the wrong people, with the right allies. History as a backdrop, conscience as an optional extra.
