And another one. Internet sure is going to suck with ID verification. I want the old times back.

If it was actually to protect the children they would use device locking.

It’s WAY easier, way less annoying for the rest of us and way safer.

This only benefits big tech companies more because it forces everyone to log in order to view anything AND because they will know even more about us then they already do.

Even if they use a 3rd party government ran age verification service to provide an “anonymized” token to the platform.

Do it all over Europe, brain rot is worse in children.

    — **For educational purposes only – I don’t promote my experience as a norm** —

I see more and more countries introducing defensive measurements against young men and women accessing adult content.

Myself, as a Ukrainian for whom even a dial-up connection (for modern kids – 4KB/s, not MBs, just KBs) I remember the culture of exchanging data offline. 700MB CD disk contained two important topics — porn and gags.

It is how I, being younger than 14, saw indecent interaction between a woman and a dalmatinian dog. A woman and a horse. A man cutting off his fingers and genitalia.

What is the moral of the story?

Hard to say. Teens fap. The modern internet is very benign. Yes, there is porn. But I haven’t seen porn with other species in more than a decade.

In the past it was freely transferable among us as a mere “disk with gags”.

ATHENS, Feb 3 (Reuters) – Greece is “very close” to announcing a social media ban for children aged under 15, a senior government source told Reuters on Tuesday.

[Spain](https://www.reuters.com/world/spain-hold-social-media-executives-accountable-illegal-hateful-content-2026-02-03/) said on Tuesday that it plans to ban social media for those aged under 16 and will create a law to hold social media executives personally responsible for hate speech on their platforms.
