      Good news: he won’t die. It’s unpleasant, but totally safe.
      Bad news: he’ll lose some time there and be low contact. He can’t refuse it if doesn’t have something like epilepsy or he isn’t disabled (I am not sure even if these too examples could be exceptions from the military)

      No, no way to just refuse it.

      It’s a mandatory service, declining which might get you into serious legal trouble. Up to few years in jail I believe.

      Only way is to have health condition unsuitable for military service, but they have stricten it by a lot after 2022.

      Well, its bad for him, but he will survive, he will loose an year, but in general, thats it. Modern belarusian army is relatively safe. Its not a late soviet army.

      He’ll serve 12 months and then return.

      For us, the army is a school of life.
