Because we are a testing ground. What they want to do but can’t do elsewhere in the world, they try here first. If people stay silent, they then start doing the same things in other countries too.
erdogan needs to control all communication channels, and get bribed for any deal that involves turkey.

The news literally says ‘goverment reviewing’ and it also says they are against the platforms, whom do not opens local offices.

they hate everyone. who is happy, they must be unhappy asap. under their “islamic” regime
I have a theory, but I couldn’t find evidence. It looks to me like the government block or throttle major platforms (YouTube, Instagram, Roblox, etc.) not for public good, but to pressure them into paying revenues. I find it hard to believe these actions are genuinely about protecting people rather than financial or political leverage.
