Are we really even shocked anymore. As awful as it is knowing how evil the Catholic Church was, high ranking people none of this realise comes as a surprise to me anymore, As sad as it maybe sound. 😬

Yet Terry Prone will still be getting paid taxpayers money and popping up on chat shows weekly.
You’d have to wonder why is she getting these gigs, a favour returned..

**SERIOUS TRIGGER WARNING**
Not a mother and baby home story, but very related to the way things were back then.
For reference, I’m 50.
Would have been in my mid teen when I found out that my mum had a miscarriage before I was born. After that it would come up in conversation every so often, “oh you might have had an older brother or sister”, things like that.
I always assumed that mum hadn’t been too far along when it happened.
It was only maybe a year or two ago, when it came up in conversation completely casually that she was going to a special mass for lost babies that she told me how she had actually given birth, although far too early for the baby to survive, and it was just taken away, no chance to say goodbye, nothing, she asked if it was a boy or a girl and was told hy the nurse/nun that “it didn’t matter”.
It’s absolutely infuriating to think how backwards our country was back then, and that we still have people that say “oh its time to forgive the church for past sins”…… FUCK. RIGHT. OFF. 😡😡😡😡😡

I dont know what it is about Tuam and the others but I’m almost reduced to tears everytime I read about these mother and baby homes going on years. I have a profound sense of guilt and shame over what happened to them and such utter disappointment in our Government and church at the time and since.
Im a big lad in my 40s and i dont think think it will ever not upset me for the rest of my days.

The biggest crimes against the Irish people and Irish society has always been at the hands of the Catholic Church

I lived all of 300 metres from that site in Tuam, and I got into a raging argument with my ex’s dad after he defended the Catholic church. Fuck him and fuck them, and fuck my ex for defending him.

The church should be drained of funds to support the compensation. The people deserve it but not from the tax payers pocket while the church counts the stacks of cash it sits on

I really don’t know how people can continue to support the Catholic Church. I feel sick every time a new article like this comes out.

According to the likes of David Quinn and company this was all a hoax.

At what point do we see Nuns in handcuffs being marched into Mountjoy? I’m seriously starting to suspect that a Mother Superior could shoot a child in the head in the middle of O’Connell Street and nothing would happen.

People seem to forget that the remains aren’t an issue in this story, we know that’s the burial site. It’s not a shock to find them. It’s why they were in the homes to begin with and the conditions.

All them were in coffins, so the sewage tank is a lie
