I think it’s either nostalgia bait at this point or just an assumption (probably correct) that the aesthetic of these movies is still more known than the series or author themselves

Movies might get old but their target audience doesn’t. Perfectly reasonable thing to do.

Also, you just know that they won’t pay any artist for new cover but generate some shitty lion/Jesus in winter scenery amalgamation and call it a day.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
