Shocking disgrace. What sort of person does this?

They are trying to create more big bog history. “ Bog man found with complete set of dining room chairs and used clothing”

I bet if you went through the bags you wouldn’t be long finding a letter with their address on it. They’d be that stupid.

I saw your post yesterday but didn’t realize it was my local bog. I didn’t see the pile you posted yesterday, must take a different route for some of my walk, but this pile with the chairs I pass daily. It’s there a week or so now.

Yeah it’s a disgrace, I log complaints with the “see it say it” app but it’s pointless. As soon as the council cleans up one pile another one appears.

Prevention needs to be the thing we aim for. I asked the council why they don’t get trail cameras but they said it’s down to GDPR problems as to the legality of using them.

Personally some sensors at the entrances plus some drones which follow any vehicle that comes into the bog sounds like a good idea. Sure it will be expensive but the council are paying to clean these up every time and over the years I’d say it adds up.

It’s a health and safety issue for people as well. All the ditches around are full of God knows what, loads of old oil drums etc. Those ditches eventually go into the local river so can only assume people/wildlife down river are dealing with the health effects of that.

I just don’t understand why they insist on throwing things into the ditch. Just throw them on the side of the road and at least it’s easy for the council to clean it up. They throw them down into the ditches and I don’t think the council are willing to clean them up as they need people to wade in and do it. Loads of the ditches are full of crap all around the bog for decades due to the scumbags who do this.

Wonder is it connected to the illegal dumping issue that plagues the fields beside every single halting site in Ireland?

  6. This is a cultural move. Don’t be a hater or I’ll cancel you.
