Cut them off as much as you can. Don’t play the game.
Trumps a baby manchild. So treat him as you do a 4 year old. Reward good behaviour and ignore bad behaviour.
Let him throw his tantrums…walk away. Once he’s calmed down, then agree to talk.
Rinse & repeat.

The only way to win is to not play

I’m probably very old-school because I know how to deal with a bully without lectures, going back to my school days: if you want to get rid of a bully, you have to make him pay a painful price.

You may not win that particular fight, but the bully will think twice next time and pick on someone else. Others who have suffered might even join you because they’ll see you have a backbone.

It’s the same for Europe: we must firmly defend our interests and say No when something doesn’t suit us. If you want to cut a deal on Ukraine without us, that’s your right. But we will increase shipments of missiles and arms to Ukraine to derail your backroom deals with Russia. If you want to raise tariffs on us, that’s your right. But we’ll raise ours too and start pulling funds from your government bonds. If you want to support politicians who kiss your ass, well, we have rules against hostile financing, and we’ll simply bar those politicians from running.

You have to know how to be tough. That’s the golden rule of dealing with bullies.
