Are Poles ready to return to the barracks? The latest poll, conducted by Opinia24 on behalf of RMF FM in February 2026, reveals a surprising shift in sentiment. Over half of Poles support the reinstatement of compulsory military service, but opposition remains strong among the youngest age group.

Demographic analysis of responses shows that the greatest supporters of reinstating compulsory military service are men (57%) , people aged 50-59 ( 61% ), and people with vocational education ( 59% ). PiS voters (73%) and those who voted for Karol Nawrocki in the presidential election (62% in the first round, 60% in the second) also declare the greatest support for this solution.

The greatest opposition to the reintroduction of compulsory military service is expressed by people aged 25-29 (43%) , people with higher education (39%) and Rafał Trzaskowski’s voters in the second round of the presidential election (35%).

    3. There should be a follow up question.
      – Will you join the military?

Don’t think you should have a vote in it if you’re not be subjected to the draft.

Yup, I support mandatory military service for anyone just below my age and younger.

Every year before military qualification there’s exact same poll, always 50+ and women vote for yes because they won’t be drafted anyway

In a week or so there will be articles fearmongering about “you have to go for military qualification!!!!1!one!” and in article it’ll be (if you are 18 or if you’ll be 18 this year), so as it was for years now

      But ads money, amirite?

    8. There is no good worker from the slave. The country should encourage people to join the service with salary and benefits and pay them for their willingness to defend the country. If we want reservists, they should be volunteers and it should come with significant tax relief. We are in the 21st century, how can anyone agree with mandatory military service? People should have the right to decide at least about their own lives. This carries the risk that the bad countries would collapse, but if its citizens allow it, maybe it deserved it?

I am pretty sure Poland won t make army mandatory again for at least 2-3 years.

    10. Like always, I support conscription for the supporters of conscription. Tell all the women and old men who said “yes” that they will be drafted. Then redo the poll.
