The official data from Statbel for 2024 movements :

A positive international migration balance is within expectation, but is slightly lower than in 2023, when it was 66,349.

The impact of the war in Ukraine on immigrations is diminishing further. In 2024, 12,633 (6.5%) of immigrants had the Ukrainian nationality, compared to 57,514 (24.6%) and 13,702 (7.0%) in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

Thanks for creating this website, I’ve used it before and find it to be very informative
It’s wild that so many Ukraine have moved there. I couldn’t imagine leaving my country in a defensive war like this. Especially when Ukraine Politicians have demanded European Powers should have boots on the ground.
In my employment a lot of the ‘Dutch’ and ‘French’ nationalities that pass by are immigrants that received a passport/identity card in those countries and then proceeded to use the free EU traffic to move to Belgium. A very large amount of ‘Dutch’ people are for example Surinamers by origin. French are often of arabic origin.
Just pointing this out so people realise ‘Dutch’ immigrants doesn’t necessarily mean Piet and Kees decided it’s nicer living in Belgium.

Turks are 2 times more than this. There were over 150k+ Turks who were eligible to vote in the last Turkish presidential elections in 2023. If you count the kids below 18 and new comers, it is for sure over 200k.

We kunnen wel eens lachen en zeveren over al die Hollanders en Fransen, maar het zijn tenminste Europeanen van een buurland met dezelfde normen en waarden.
Ik zal wel weer uitgescholden worden voor rotte vis, maar ik vind het extreem zorgwekkend dat er drie landen die *niets* met ons gemeen hebben, in de top 10 staan. Daarvan zelfs nog eentje op nummer 1. Het zijn ook de die dat elke nieuwjaarsavond en voetbalmatch uitbundig vieren, tot bloedens toe.
Sommige culturen zijn gewoon niet compatibel met de onze, en haat het feit dat elke conversatie hierover monddood gemaakt wordt.
